About the FTL Directorate

In line with the Government of India’s “Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyaan”, the Financial and Tax Literacy Directorate has undertaken various initiatives to demystify crucial financial concepts and tax-related matters for the layperson, fostering a more financially informed society.

Since its inception, the Financial and Tax Literacy Directorate has been steadfast with the motto of “Har Jan, Har Man, Vitiyagyan se Sampann” and has made significant strides in expanding its outreach with a strong focus on last-mile financial empowerment.

By undertaking a range of diverse initiatives, the Directorate has reached out to various sections of society, including teachers, trainers, students, local villagers, self-help groups, bookkeepers, cluster-level federations, agriculturists, enforcement personnel, government officials, scientists, scholars, housewives, senior citizens, etc.

In 2025, the Directorate facilitated 250+ programs nationwide through the wide network of 185 branches and 5 regional councils, along with the radio campaign in vernacular languages across the country and has reached over 3.93 crore people.
